Valentine’s Day & The New Year

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I thought Valentine’s Day was going to suck this year… but well, I got two love letters from two cute guys and a big kiss *wink* from this drop dead gorgeous guy I like to seal the day.

Hmm. Not bad, right?

Then came New Year’s Eve, which I thought was going to pass just like the Intl New Year. But in the afternoon, Cie Ling sent me a text, asking if I’d like to stay at their place the eve of Lunar New Year.

I of course replied with gusto, saying YES. I haven’t seen my newest nephew, Marvel Gabriel, since he was born 6 months ago, I haven’t seen Cousin Edwin since I moved out of Grogol and I wanted Auntie Helen to read Marley and Me.

And I hadn’t seen Cindy the dog for a very, very long time. I dreamed of her over and over.

Marvel turned out to be as heavy as everybody told me - he’s a whopping 20 lbs!  Happy, Cie Ling’s dog, had somehow turned smaller and, due to her new activities, Cie Ling hadn’t been buying any new books. Huh.

Much to my surprise, I saw two better-looking Cindy-look-alikes at Edwin’s house. Initially I thought, How come? Cindy had been neutered shortly after she delivered Pinky and the other 5 puppies. As it turned out, Bravo and Gading were Pinky’s offsprings - Cindy’s grandchildren.

They all, praise the Lord, lack Cindy’s overblown vivacity but inherited her loving nature.

I met the whole family during the weekend, except for Cie Thing, and got a number of angpaos. Teehee!

Edwin got me addicted to this Hong Kong soapies he had been watching, At The Threshold of An Era. We stayed up the whole Sunday night and Monday morning to finish it!

Darling Iker played brilliantly this morning and it’s all been great this month!

Love Is In The Air

It’s the Valentine’s week!!!

I’ve bought the chocolate and all… I know in comics we, girls, cook our own chocolate yada, yada, yada… but do I look like a comic person to you? Sorry, boys, I buy my chocolate.

That’s not to say that I copy poems into perfumed letters and send it to the lucky guy(s). I write my own poem. *smug*

Anyway, I wrote three this year… wait, wait - let me explain. One’s for my beloved student, thanking him for making me feel like I’m the best teacher ever. The other two… well.

Anyway, one hit the mark, kind of. Friends told me that he likes the poem and is anxious to reply. Cute. Especially when I wasn’t exactly expecting a reply. Sheesh, what’ve I done?

My YAC 6 students were especially funny today - at one point, I found myself laughing until I cried. God, those little devils.

The IM 4 students were very bad in their coming in extremely late after the break. I usually give only 10 mts break. They were out for 30 mts!!! Only 3 came back on time. I locked the rest out.

Soon there were sounds of knocking. Then beggings. Then pleads. Then a very curious sound of a piece of paper being slid under the door. I turned and burst out laughing at the pathetic letter: WE ARE SORY.

On to the world of football… Iker is wearing a Spider-man Gloves!!! Isn’t he cute?!! *gushing*
The game last Sunday was especially good. I’m glad I was still up to watch it. Iker conceded a goal on the first half - but gave an outstanding performance came second half. He executed at least three brilliant saves which resulted in the commentator yapping his name like a revered saint.

Caro mio Iker. Nadie mas que tu. Gosh, I wish I could write a poem in Spanish.

So, in case I haven’t got the time to be online in the next few days… HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, guys. Love you all!!!

A Greeting
