My Fave Quotes

Thursday, August 24th, 2006

…and how apt they are to my own situation…

"The loudest sound of all, love unspoken." Dawson’s Creek (TV serials), circa 2000.

"The heart wants what it wants or else it does not care." Emily Dickinson

God, I mean to let go - and I’m usually good at this - but here I am, still hung up with memories and the feeling of not wanting to forget, not wanting to give up hope.

For the first time in history (again), I wish for someone to tell me what to do. Usually I know what to do, even if I don’t want to. But now, I’m just clueless.

Some of the time, I tell myself, How stupid can you be? Let it go and move on.

And some of the time, I think, I can’t. I can’t. I like Emily Dickinson’s quote because once, I thought I knew what it felt like but now I know exactly how it feels. If I can’t have what I want, I just don’t care about anything else anymore.

God. This is crazy.

In The Mood

…for philosophy.

I know this thing I cannot have. I know it’s just the way it is. Nobody ever says that life is fair - I’d say I am one of the few people who know and understand that. And accept it quite easily.

It’s just that this is the first time I want to ignore it, I want to scream out loud, I want to run around the world so that I could change things the way Puck does. Change it, so for this one, just this one I don’t have to sit back and accept what Life gives me. I want to be able to say, I should have it because I want it.

Arrrggghhh…………..!!!

Day’s Summary

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Always wanted to do a post like this but am not sure if I’d be able to… So here goes.

Tuesday, Aug 1, 2006
Woke up, 10 AM.

Did the laundry and then took a bath.

Dressed self while watching Maria Callas’ biography.

Went to office, 11 AM.

Had lunch while preparing classes, Green Ants (G1) and Intermediate 3. Joking around with Fari while listening to Nelly Furtado’s interview on America’s Top 40.

Did back-to-back Placement Tests, 12.25. Two primary school students going into Green Ants. Not my class, thank God.

Worked on Independence Day’s ad layout. Still sketches.

Another BtB Placement Test, 1.20 PM. A JrHi student went into YAC3 and a HiSchool student went into Basic 2.

Yunie called, asking if the day would be good for a reunion. I said yes. Agreed to meet @ Puri.

2 PM, made myself some tea and picked up the poster I was going to use in G1 class. Man, the container was very heavy.

Sometime past 2, someone erased the old random writings on bulletin board and supplied a new topic: Describe yourself in 3 words. Mine goes Stern, Serious and Sexy!

2.30 PM, taught G1. Tara and Pia didn’t come. We talked about Rooms In A House. The clock showed sometime past 5. Room 302 is the limit, really. Door’s handle is broken, there’s a hole in the wall, the AC is very loud and now the clock shows the wrong time.

3.40, finished with G1. They didn’t want to go home! God. Go, please. Told them hurriedly about Independence Day Games.

Put on makeup. It’s always advised not to put on makeup before any Green classes. Always do it afterward.

4.05, had some snack. Some of my 3.15 students transferred to Ida’s 5.15 class, so I transferred their grades to Ida’s folder. Listened to my HOT 3 CD.

4.35, went to Indomart and bought some bread (snack!) and a pack of tissue.

4.40, did more sketches for Independence Day poster

Yunie texted to confirm our date. I told her after 7.

5.15, taught Intermediate 3. Reporting News on Radio: Headlines vs. Story

7.05, Rocky called, asking what I was doing. Told him I was baking a cake! Apparently he was tagging along and would be meeting me, too, @Puri. He wanted to pick me up but it was obvious he knew nothing about Ciledug so…

Around 8, met the guys and talking up a storm at Puri’s Food Court.

9. 25 PM, got rounded up by food court’s people! A question of going somewhere else was raised but Rocky insisted I was tired and that he’d better take me home. Told him no as it was more practical for Jimmy to drive me home.

So it’s bye bye to Yunie and Rocky - boy, to think that it’s been 8 years since I last saw Yunie!High School graduation! I last saw Rocky when Jimmy got married. How time flies.
